How ImportMate Works
Importing products for the first time can feel daunting — but ImportMate handles the complex parts for you. From supplier sourcing to delivery, every step is transparent, guided, and easy to follow.
Step 1: Get Your Business Ready to Import
Before getting started, make sure you’re registered to trade. You’ll need a Self Assessment, Government Gateway login, UTR number, and EORI number to import goods legally into the UK. If you’re unsure how to set these up, our Getting Started Guide walks you through everything.
Step 2: Submit Your Import Enquiry
Once you’re ready, fill out our Import Enquiry Form with details about your product idea, budget, and timeline. After you submit, you’ll receive confirmation and can expect a personal reply within 48 hours.
Step 3: Discuss Product Details & Branding
We’ll reach out to discuss your specific goals — including any custom branding, packaging, or design preferences. This helps us source the right manufacturers and materials for your business vision.
Step 4: Supplier Sourcing & Verification
We contact trusted suppliers we’ve worked with before and research new, reliable options when needed. Every manufacturer is vetted for product quality, communication standards, and export experience.
Step 5: Updates & Product Options
We’ll keep you updated throughout the process, providing product photos, quotes, and shipping options as we receive them. You’ll always know what’s happening, with full transparency on pricing and lead times.
Step 6: Shipment Organisation
Once you approve the order, ImportMate coordinates the entire shipment — from factory to freight. We handle packaging, export paperwork, and communication with logistics providers, ensuring your goods are shipped safely and efficiently.
Step 7: Delivery & Next Steps
Your products arrive at your UK address or chosen warehouse. From there, we can help with re-orders, scaling production, or sourcing additional product ranges using the same proven process.
You focus on your ideas — we’ll handle the rest.
